Abstract

The enhancement of pesantren’s flagship educational programs plays a strategic role in developing students’ competencies and advancing the institution’s quality. These flagship programs serve as both an attraction for students and a means to strengthen educational excellence in accordance with their respective fields. This study aims to analyze the strategies implemented by Pondok Pesantren Sultan Malikussaleh in improving the quality of da’i cadre development and to examine the impact of these strategies on the effectiveness of da’i training. This research employs a qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. The results indicate that the strategies to enhance da’i cadre quality are implemented through flagship educational programs, including curriculum development, kitab kuning studies, and da’i cadre formation. The strategies are operationalized through weekly, monthly, and annual work programs, the establishment of organizational structures for each program, and the provision of supporting facilities and infrastructure. Furthermore, regular evaluations are conducted periodically to ensure program effectiveness and sustainability. This study concludes that a well-planned and continuous strategic management approach significantly contributes to improving the quality of da’i cadre development at Pondok Pesantren Sultan Malikussaleh.
