Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management strategies implemented by Dayah Keumaral Al-Aziziyah in developing the religious character of santri (students) through the integration of Islamic values in the educational process. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to explore how planning, implementation, and evaluation contribute to the internalization of religious values. The findings show that the management strategy at Dayah Keumaral Al-Aziziyah emphasizes three main aspects: discipline, exemplary behavior (uswah hasanah), and habituation of religious practices such as collective prayers, recitation of the Qur’an, and community service. These activities strengthen the moral and spiritual dimensions of santri, aligning with the institution’s mission to produce individuals who are intellectually capable and spiritually grounded. However, several challenges remain, including limited facilities, lack of professional development for teachers, and inconsistent evaluation systems. Therefore, effective management supported by adequate resources and continuous training for educators is essential to sustain the internalization of religious character. The study concludes that an integrative management strategy combining classical Islamic traditions and modern educational approaches can effectively nurture santri’s religious character in Islamic educational institutions.
