This study aimed to improve students' learning outcomes through the implementation of the Make-a-Match learning model in Islamic Religious Education among eighth-grade students at SMP IT Daarul Muttaqien Pidie Jaya. The study was motivated by the low level of student engagement in the learning process due to the predominance of conventional teaching methods, such as lectures, question-and-answer sessions, and discussions, which had not effectively encouraged active participation or learning motivation. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design using a descriptive quantitative approach conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were eighth-grade students of SMP IT Daarul Muttaqien Pidie Jaya. Data were collected through classroom observations, learning achievement tests, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistical techniques to examine the percentage of learning mastery as well as teacher and student activities. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Make-a-Match learning model significantly improved both the learning process and students' learning outcomes. Students' learning mastery increased from 71.42% in Cycle I to 92.85% in Cycle II. Teacher activity improved from 90.71% to 94.44%, while student activity increased from 83.33% to 91.66%. These findings indicate that the Make-a-Match learning model is effective in enhancing students' active participation, learning motivation, and academic achievement in Islamic Religious Education. Therefore, this learning model can serve as an innovative instructional alternative to promote a more active, engaging, and student-centered learning environment.
